Sell Out by Yeo Joon Han

Tell me, how often do you get to camwhore in a cinema? I mean, people would be cursing you for the flash and the distraction of your poses, especially when you're doing it with a bunch of friends. Well, personally, I haven't tried that before, until 2 days ago.
The 3 of us decided to watch Sell Out, a Malaysian film at night. Due to our heavy schedule, the only time that we can get out for a movie is at night. So yea, I was the one who bought the ticket and I was right. There weren't many people watching it since it's a Malaysian film, as expected. But what I didn't expect was for the cinema to be empty. That was the first time, ever. So we had to do what we have to do - Camwhore!

Alright back to the movie. Since Chye and Calvin were in the show, I decided to give it a shot since watching the trailer and the promo videos amused me much. Not forgetting, it's a Malaysian film. It's really exciting to see another Malaysian film that's in English and nothing like Cicakman. Not that I watched it, but seeing the name just turned me off.

Anyway, it's definitely a film that everyone should go for it. I mean it's not some awesome Box Office film but it's seriously hillarious. There were moments where it just tickles your belly and made you want to laugh. Not forgetting, it includes A LOT of Malaysian essence into it. You know, like how Americans are able to laugh at American jokes and through this, we can actually relate to all the incidents. It's just sheer fun. I don't mind going for it again. Not forgetting, Jerrica Lai, the main actress was just simply hillarious. I could laugh all day.

The main song (or I guess it is), You're Not My Type, is so darn funny. This film is kind of like a musical. With a mixture of the common languages in Malaysia, all Malaysians should actually watch it. It made me feel proud, at least we have such talents. According to Chye, all the songs are written and composed by Yeo Joon Han, the writer, producer and director. Cool ain't it? I wonder when I'd be in one of these. Check out the trailer:

You're wondering why there are only 3 people? For one, it was a cinema in Jusco Cheras Selatan, where hardly anyone goes to. Secondly, it was a midnight show. People who have lives will not be there. And thirdly, Malaysians just don't support Malaysian films. Malaysians, I call upon you, please watch this multi-award winning comedy. It's seriously worth a watch!

Just dropping a note. Those who are interested in getting the soundtrack - I know a lot of people are addicted to the song "You're Not My Type" - well, you can! By tomorrow most Rock Corner shops would have had stocks of the soundtrack CD to sell.

And, okay, I know the temptation is there to download the songs illegally ... but director Joon Han stated that he used his own money to fund the printing of the soundtrack CD and is dependent on it for his income, so do support original in this case, please!
